In 1 Samuel 8-9, we learn that the Israelites rejected God as their King and desired to have a king to rule over them just like the other nations. They didn’t understand that God was the only King that they needed. God warned them of the consequences of having a king rule over them and told them what they would lose in the process. We understand how the Israelites lust for what the other nations had caused them to lose more than they thought they would.

Pastor David also teaches us about our role as Christians in our country. We need to pray for and speak blessings over our president and leaders. It's time we rise up and use the authority God gave us to change things around us.
