Restoration through Prayer | TV Special
Activating Restoration • Educational
We can overcome debt, distress and discontentment through prayer and we learn this from the life of David. Every promise in Gods Word is available to us but must first be activated and appropriated. Nothing is automatic, we must appropriate the Word. David uses prayer to receive his restoration. Only through prayer can we keep what God gives us. In Psalm 13 - David writes from a cave that he went into hiding from. He was having a "cave experience". This is important in the life of a believer, God uses this time to prepare a man and mature him before a public declaration of the authority God has given him. From verse 1-2 we see that David felt like the struggle was endless, that he lost God's blessing, his mind was troubled and he began to doubt God's plan. Anxiety is when we meditate on our problems. We must meditate on the Word of God to be free. We need to meditate and not just read the Word. We must be doers of the Word. In verse 3 onwards we see David turns the situation around. David's heart turns when he starts to pray. He says Look at me, Answer me & Restore me. God hears you in the time of your trouble. Prayer is so important - it liberates you. You have to make time to pray. Keep on praying and don't quit. Jesus spoke about 3 levels of prayer - ask, and if you don't get it then seek, if you don't get it after fasting then start to knock, which is deep intercession with God. You will receive your restoration.
