When you are born again, the old covenants you made are not broken automatically. Paul writes to the church and says that they should not give room to the devil, which suggests that believers can make covenants with the enemy which can affect them. God is a covenant-keeping God, and will honour the covenants you make. When a strongman is armed, his goods are at peace. When a stronger man than him comes, he strips his of his armour and takes his spoils. Jesus striped Satan of his armor/power, and took everything he had.
